I don’t know if you ever read John Chow’s blog or not, but I sometimes do because he obviously knows how to make money online. This morning I was looking over his recommended money makers and I see that he recommends DealDotCom, which is a site offering products pertaining to blogging and making money online. Each day one product is the deal of the day, and is offered at a much lower price to members, for that day. Recent deals include Forum Traffic Secrets, a Personal URL Generator, and several other tools of interest to serious bloggers and online money makers.
Anyway, I decided to give DealDotCom a try, and, as you can see I now have their widget in my sidebar. I’ll keep you posted as to any results I see from this latest venture.
On the “tried and true” front, my Pay Per Post earnings now total $447 and change, with another $40 and change pending. I had an e-mail from them the other day and it seems that one of their advertisers (3GB) used an unauthorized credit card to fund their opportunity. Pay Per Post asked that all reviewers who took that opportunity remove it from their blogs and pledged to pay the reviewers themselves. I found that quite impressive. It gives you a good feeling to know firsthand that you are working with a company that has good ethics.
Smorty remains at a standstill, with one opportunity taken since having to start all over at square one.
I recently joined Social Spark as well but so far am finding that I much prefer Pay Per Post in terms of earning potential. I have written two “paid” posts here so far- you wait in a “line” for the opportunity to come to you and then you have 12 hours to write the post. (difficult when the opp is e-mailed to you while you’re at your full-time day job and gone from home for 11 hours+ several days each week) Both posts have been rejected multiple times because they “don’t contain the link or disclosure badge”. Both contain both. I got sick of dealing with help tickets and gave up on them. I had thought that Social Spark would be the perfect companion to go with Pay Per Post, but unless they get the kinks ironed out, I don’t find it worthwhile.
I’m still not quite ready to give up on Sponsored Reviews though I haven’t written a review for them in some time now. I was getting offers but they stopped after I bought my own domain and moved to it. Still, I think this one still has plenty of potential so I’ll hang on for a while yet.
So far, Show Your Ad Here is what we refer to on the bus as a “no show”. Maybe I need to beep the horn a bit louder…it works sometimes on the bus to get a straggler out of bed, out the door and on board. I have yet to have an ad shown on my blogs- either of them. I’ll wait a bit longer since I’ve seem them recommended by some reputable sites.

Thought it was about time I updated on my paying endeavors- So far, with Pay Per Post I’ve earned $403.10 and that’s what has actually come (and gone) through my PayPal account. I have another almost $70 pending for posts that have not yet paid. My RealRank continues to bounce all over the place. Ever slam a superball against the inside of a bathtub? Yeah- sort of like that…So, opportunities can be plentiful one day and non-existent the next. I keep hoping it will even out here eventually.
I had to start all over, at square one, with Smorty, new user name and e-mail: the works. But I did finally get approved and have written one post for them so far this time, for an anticipated payment of $6. Currently there are no new opportunities for me but I’m sure that will change sometime soon.
On Show Your Ad Here I forgot to make updates and changes after I lost my entire Kaleidoscope blog a month ago. So, I’ve been working on that today. I also forgot to go back and change the blog url for this blog when I moved it to my domain. But, now that all that is done, we’ll wait and see what happens with them.

Izea’s Social Spark featuring social media marketing, blog marketing media and advertisers marketing media is now open to the public. If you are writing reviews forPayPerPost Social Spark is an excellent companion opportunity.
After signing up for Social Spark and having your blog approved (usually within just a few hours) you can then find posting opportunities, which, like PayPerPost pay you to write reviews. All opportunities have a feature that shows you whether or not you qualify to write that particular review and if the opportunity is still open. Even if you do not qualify, you can still put in a request to the advertiser to be considered for the opportunity. You are allowed to make one such request per week. Some nice bonus dollars are available on many of the review oppotunities- a feature not found in PayPerPost. I’m going to have to do some more reading to see how one qualifies for the bonuses.
Another unique aspect to Social Spark is the “props” and “drops” rating system. “Props” are a way for you give another blogger or even an advertiser or an opportunity itself, your vote of confidence or a high rating. “Drops” are the opposite- used to give a negative rating. Both become part of your profile information, available for all to see.
Forum boards are available to learn more about how to use Social Spark to your greatest advantage as a paid review writer. From what I can see so far- this is an excellent pairing for any PayPerPost writer to participate in.

this afternoon I learned that Turnip has decided to drop Project Wonderful and try ShowYourAdHere
instead. I never saw any results at all from Project Wonderful and dropped them some time back. So, I’m going to try ShowYourAdHere myself.
Set up is quite simple and after that, everything is pretty much automatic. Not sure what to charge for a 7 day ad on your site? Go to DnScoop for an idea. Minimum required by ShowYourAdHere is $5/week. So, one ad on your site (and you determine its’ size and location) can bring you an extra $20/month. Like I said in the title of this post, nothing ventured, nothing gained…
Since moving to my own domain, my Real Rank has done quite a bit of fluctuating, but lately I’ve had some pretty good opportunities for writing PayPerPost reviews. I did two the other night and made just short of $27, which was not bad at all for about a half hour’s worth of work. That’s more than I make at my real job- in two hours. So far, I’ve made just a little under $400 with PayPerPost since October when I signed up. I have almost another $35 pending with them as well.
The Big Bang meme has brought my Technorati Authority up considerably on Kaleidoscope and was most definitely worth participating in. I’ve gone from something like an authority of 18 to 39 in just a couple of weeks.
